Pastor:   Bill O

POSITION: Bill O’Connor, an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, is the Pastor of the Marsing Church of the Nazarene in Marsing, Idaho. He began his pastoral ministry with this congregation in August of 2001.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from LIFE Bible College (1964) and a Master of Arts degree from Azusa Pacific University (1974). He served as Minister of Education and Youth for churches in San Dimas, California and Monrovia, California; and has pastored congregations in Salmon, Idaho; Royal Oak, Michigan; and Newberg, Oregon, before coming to Marsing.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT: He also worked as Executive Director of three Chambers of Commerce in La Grande, Oregon; Sandpoint, Idaho; and Tucson, Arizona. He served for four years as the President of the Marsing, Idaho Chamber of Commerce. He has been extensively involved in community service wherever he has lived and worked, and has served as member and president of a school board, member of several civic and educational committees, as a member of two Rotary clubs, and as member and president of three Toastmasters clubs. He founded the Toastmasters club in Sandpoint, Idaho.

PROFESSIONAL AND DENOMINATIONAL INVOLVEMENT: Bill is a freelance writer with more than 700 articles, devotions and other materials to his credit. He facilitates three online classes in the Ministerial Course of Study for Northwest Nazarene University, and is Secretary of the Intermountain District’s Board of Ministerial Credentials.

FAMLY: He is married and lives in Nampa, Idaho, with his wife, Cheri, and daughter, Kira. His son, Kevin and family (wife Angela and children Christopher and Adoniah) live in Caldwell, Idaho.
